The key points for the days before your appointment.
- Stop blood thinners (e.g. aspirin, ibuprofen) 10 days in advance — after talking to your doctor.
- No alcohol and no smoking in the last 48 hours — both slow down healing.
- Eat normally on the day of surgery. You do not need to be fasting.
- Keep the hair in the surgical area short — but do not shave on the day itself.
- Bring comfortable, loose underwear and loose clothing.
- Arrange someone to take you home — especially if you choose sedation.
- Keep the first 3–5 days free — no sport, no swimming, no tight trousers.

Are my labia normal?
Almost certainly yes. There is no "normal" shape — every vulva differs in size, colour and symmetry. Surgery is only appropriate if you experience physical or emotional distress, not because something looks "different".
Am I being self-conscious for no reason?
No. Shame is understandable — this topic is rarely talked about. In this practice you will not be judged.
Am I too young or too old?
We operate from age 18; there is no upper age limit. Most patients are between 25 and 55. What matters is the medical reason, not the age.
Will my partner notice?
Usually not. The goal is a natural shape — not an "operated" look. What you tell anyone is entirely your decision.
Can I still give birth normally afterwards?
Yes. A properly performed labiaplasty does not affect a future vaginal birth. The procedure only involves the inner labia, not the birth canal.
What if I do nothing?
If you have no complaints: nothing. Enlarged labia are not a disease. But if you are suffering, the situation usually stays the same — it does not "grow out".
Do I have to talk to my gynaecologist?
No. You can come directly to us without a referral. If you wish, we send a short report after the procedure — or we don't.
Do patients regret it?
With a clear reason and realistic expectations, very rarely. Patient satisfaction in studies is above 90%. We also advise against surgery when we think it is the wrong path.
